词缀不可滥用 ！

在论坛中看到一句话：The reckless driver was fined for overspeed and warned to drive reckfully（那个鲁莽的司机因为超速被罚款，并被警告以后小心驾驶。） 很佩服作者独具匠心，巧用万能词缀-less和-ful，但这是一个病句。Reckless确实由动词reck（顾虑，谨慎）演变而来，但reck无reckful或reckfully的形容词和副词形式。再如gruntle（使高兴），加上前缀-dis，disgruntle（使不高兴），若在gruntle后加-ing，”gruntling”可不是”令人高兴的”，而是表示”小猪”。

Reck实际上是古英语词，现在人们常用它的疑问或否定形式，如：”What recks he if the sky should fall ? “（天塌下来他也不在乎）。就reckless本身来讲，它强调”wild carelessness and disregard for consequences（不计后果的行为）”，如：The government has taken effective measures to protect the Tibetan antelope from reckless slaughter（政府已采取有效措施，杜绝残杀藏羚羊的鲁莽行为）（沪江英语学习网 www.a-xa.com）
